Globalism Economists Folly Unmasked, King Solomon Blog

Thanks to globalism selling politicians, we are not able to buy a N95 mask  for $1.35 in the USA when we need it the most.

Everyone should know or be reminded about the story how the USA outsourced manufacturing capacities that began on Dec 8, 1993 when Bill Clinton signed the NAFTA treaty despite the warnings that it will suck out millions of USA jobs and our Nation’s manufacturing capabilities.

Outsourcing manufacturing turned into an avalanche over time with some good effects for creating cheaper prices for non-essential items which buyers could wait 37 days for ships to transport. Yet it resulted in many former manufacturing workers to be paid less livable wages by stocking shelves in big box stores instead of skilled manufacturing wages.

The Purpose of This Post

Is to remind us to correct the problem of allowing manufacturing of 90 percent of medical supplies to be imported which sadly is the main reason why there is a shortage of PPE protective medical gear and N95 masks in the USA,

The result is thousands of lives have been impacted or lost or either medical personnel, elderly, and the general public along with a quarantine shutdown of the USA economy along with added trillions of dollars to our National Debt.

King Solomon

“It’s no good, it’s no good!” says the buyer– then goes off and boasts about the purchase. (Proverb 20:14)

What’s My Point?

Politicians have been listening to the warnings over the years by  thousands of critics about outsourcing manufacturing of critical items such as medical supplies and military equipment.

Globalism proponents brushed off their concerns with economic theories and arguments to result in politicians agreeing to globalism.

For example, when Obama was running for his first term in office, he promised to renegotiate trade agreements. I am assuming after listening to the globalism economists and by his record of making more trade agreements he decided their argument that the USA would thrive as a service economy and  manufacturing will never return to the USA.

My point is as the above proverb explains, buyers and sellers have been negotiating with each other to  obtain what they may at the time be the best deal for themselves for thousands of years..

Sadly though, the best deal to import lower cost critical protective (PPE) medical supplies and masks, and if there ever was a war, military parts, has not turned out to be the best value based on the trillions of dollars now being spent because of the pandemic.

Or as every professional purchasing agent is taught or learns from experience.

“Sometimes the cheapest price is not the best value over time.”

In My Opinion

If you read the articles below you will better understand how 3M, while increasing manufacturing of N95 masks by millions is still exporting to other countries the masks.

It is a humanitarian thing for 3M to do because globalism is a two-way commitment and Canada needs the masks just a badly as the USA.

In previous posts I also explained what everyone with manufacturing experience knows. That we cannot build 4.1-million-dollar machinery in a week, or month, and even years. Especially if the machinery has to be built in Germany because the USA no longer has the trained machinists, technical expertise, and machinery to make the machines that make the masks.

Hopefully, this sad experience will sadly serve to remind our politicians of the consequences of outsourcing 90 percent of medical supplies was not the best deal or value for the USA.

You Decide

Was globalism of 90 percent of USA medical supplies and a service economy  a wise or foolish economic theory?

Would it be better if the USA had stocked billions of masks, or would it have been far better and more efficient and economical to have the capability to manufacture billions of masks if the manufacturing machinery was available in the USA?

For example, in a previous post I explained how Illinois paid millions of dollars and who know what exorbitant price to fly in N95 masks because of the pandemic. Hopefully the masks obtained were  not counterfeit or inferior masks as I explained in previous posts.

In your experience, have you ever bought any item because it was cheaper than a brand name? Then regretted it later for some reason because over time it turned out not to be the best deal that you, or the same as the proverbial buyer boasted 3000 years ago to someone about the great deal he purchased or negotiated?

King Solomon, Besmirch Irony

Which of these two professions thrives on besmirching their opponents?

Definitions
Besmirch-to cause harm or damage to : sully, soil
Irony– a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result
What Two Professions?
1.Lawyers- Movie scenes portray lawyers as heroes or heroines when they besmirch a   bad guy’s lying statements in a courtroom scene. Obviously then, lawyers thrive on besmirching?
2.Politicians-Anyone listening to politicians in news interviews on TV or Radio, especially during election times, for the most part are hearing politicians besmirching their opponents.
In a previous post titled, King Solomon, Civil Decorum in Congress, I stated my opinion that politicians should be examples of Democracy and first debate with their opponents using civil decorum in the halls of Congress rather than besmirching them in public.
King Solomon
Hiding hatred makes you a liar; slandering others makes you a fool. (Proverb 10:18)
And he that uttereth slander is a fool; that brings it out by wholesale, and hides it not; who openly defames his neighbour, and in the most public manner; and with a multitude of words detracts from his good name, credit, and reputation, and loads him with calumny and reproach; such a man is a fool, a very wicked man: yea, not only the public slanderer, but the secret dissembler, who thinks himself a cunning man because he hides himself; each of these is a fool, the one as well as the other. (Gils Commentary Excerpt)
In Other Words
Today on the news it appears to me that besmirching and possibly inferring slanderous innuendos or implied accusations is no longer considered an immoral issue of concern by anyone..
Perhaps because of the example of our politicians daily public displays of besmirching, there are now more activists emulating their tactics?
Instead of debating with decorum, activists engage in besmirching on the internet, marching about the streets with besmirching signs, disrupting public meetings, shouting often times slanderous remarks, and even fighting with people who do not share their political opinions.
Irony In My Opinion
The irony of our USA Democracy and the subject of besmirching, is the USA Congress is mainly comprised of lawyers thriving on besmirching their opponents.

King Solomon, Chicago Violence Disease? Post Ten (Revised)

cn_chicagosunset

Are lack of opportunity and jobs the core reasons for the Violence Diseases plaguing our Cities and Nation?
A Chicago Tribune seasoned reporter  on February 7, 2017 wrote in a column  titled, Even for Reporters, Sad Tales Too Much to Bear, and made this statement.
“The city’s violence is a symptom of a deeper disease plaguing some neighborhoods on the South and West sides — namely a lack of jobs and opportunities in communities that once buzzed with skilled and unskilled labor.”
In My Opinion
Yes, I believe most people will agree the lack of job opportunities is a weight variable that adds to the “disease” of Chicago Violence. However, there are other “disease factors” that I believe add far greater weights to the core diagnoses of  reasons for Chicago Violence according to other articles.
If interested, read the proverbs and accompanying articles  below.
King Solomon
1.Proverb on How Work Increases a Person’s Stature and Community
Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before obscure men. (Proverb 28:29)

2. Proverb on How Two Parent Families Benefit Communities

He who stops his ear to the cry of a poor man will himself cry out and not be answered. (Proverb, 21:13)

King Solomon, Chicago Violence, Black Leader Conundrum? Post Eight

cn_chicagosunset

Who could be the next Black Leader to help reduce Black on Black Violence?

About This Post
The Chicago Tribune has recorded the number of shootings and victims in Chicago beginning January 1, 2017. As of February 2,  there have been 311 shootings.  I have no other information about the incidents other than what was reported.  The purpose of this post, is to hopefully promote a meaningful  conversation by our legislators to obtain solutions and begin to teach moral wisdom in our schools to find an immediate and long term solution to promote the general welfare of our city, state, and nation.
There is no single cause or solution for the violence. This post will focus on the need for Black leadership.
We Live Our Values
What are the cultural values of Blacks living in Chicago? Statistics indicate that 71 percent of shootings in Chicago are being inflicted by Black on Black. Black culture values differ from other cultures and are effected by different factors of economics, schooling, morals, family, missing fathers, bigotry, drugs, etc.
In my opinion, to effect any positive changes will take time and effective leadership with proven communication skills, talents, and passion to help change what is obviously in an urgent need to end,  Black violence on  other Blacks.
What Is My Point.
Frankly, I know proverbs to compare the wisdom of Solomon to Chicago Violence are limited in purpose and effectiveness to help end the violence. In my opinion, Blacks need a leader they trust to help them help themselves.
Blacks need a leader they can identify and relate to them with trust, and value as a friend because he knows by experiences of living in Black communities, and has better familiarity and knowledge of their culture, trials, and tribulations they grew up with and experienced.
There are of course white leader exceptions, but few and limited, even though they could be considered saints for trying. Can a white man or woman ever achieve the same trust and  accomplishments of Martin Luther King Jr?
Conundrum, Who might Blacks Trust, Listen To, and Follow?
Would he or she perhaps have experience as a social organizer or associated with a clergy?
Be brave as was Martin Luther King?
Have a high approval rating earned by his or her experience as a leader?
Have a reputation for being compassionate and understanding of Black cultures in his past decisions?
Have knowledge of government social help programs and contacts in government to aid his efforts?
Have a  source of income to allow him or her to expend full time organizing while perhaps supporting a family? The wages and reward for his or her time and effort will only be measured, not in wealth or money, only in hearts.
Be well known and liked by powerful political leaders in Chicago government.
Have strong moral character?
Who Might He or She Be?
In ancient times, it was common for soldiers to choose a leader they would follow into battle. Is there a battle going on between Blacks and Blacks, not just in Chicago or in other Black communities in  our nation?
If you know someone who might fit the following requirements as a Black leader,  I recommend you contact him or her.
Will he or she answer the call for in response to the needs of the Black communities in Chicago?
A King Solomon proverb might describe what will be the wages and reward  if he or she chooses to answer an urgent life and death need of Black brothers and sisters .
King Solomon
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.  (Proverb 27:17)
So a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend; by conversation with him; thus learned men sharpen one another’s minds, and excite each other to learned studies
Wage and Reward
Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man. (Proverbs 2:3-4)
Proverbs
Proverbs do not solve problems. What proverbs only do is goad people, same as a spur will goad a horse to respond, to think wisely before they act. If a proverb helps to goad a Black leader to come forward and help his brothers and sisters to stop end the violence being afflicted by Blacks on Blacks, King Solomon would be pleased.
If you can think of someone to help solve violence, and who has the qualifications I outlined, I recommend you reach out to goad him to respond to lead his Black brothers and sisters.
Regards and goodwill blogging.
