King Solomon, “Out of the frying pan, into the fire?” Universal Medicare? Post Two

Will USA voters be seduced by a political left-wing party ideology to have a government universal health care be incorporated into Medicare?

The Chicago Tribune article titled, Dems try to shift health care debate, reported, “A clamor to create Medicare for all has exploded on the left.”
Another article titled, Surgeon General warns of teen risks from vaping, reports “vaping, (a form of smoking) nicotine is dangerous, and can have negative health effects.”
Another article titled, Tobacco giant buys into vaping market, reposted Marlboro, one of the biggest tobacco companies is spending 13 billion dollars to invest in Jul., a major vaping company in the USA.
Another article titled, Marijuana legalization shifts from when to how, reports Illinois new Democrat governor favors legalized recreational marijuana and expects sales will bring in $1 billion tax revenue.
In 1982, the Surgeon General warned of serious health effects of marijuana.
In 1965, the Surgeon General warnings resulted in warning labels on cigarette packages.
The Purpose of this Post
To question the wisdom of incorporating a universal healthcare benefit into Medicare without incentives to prevent foolish individual health choices.
Will doing so be same as a “jump from the pot into the fire, and hypocrisy of government warning of products health hazards, and at the same time rewarding fools who ignore the health warnings with a universal healthcare program to provide free health care when they suffer the effects?
King Solomon
Long life is in her (wisdom)  right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. (Proverb 3:16) )
Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. (Proverb 9:11)
 What’s My Point?
The original purpose of Medicare was for people during their working years to pay into a fund to insure them to help pay for the medical costs they will encounter when they retire. Over time, politicians added eligible people who never paid in the fund to obtain health benefits from the fund.
Most people who engage in foolish unhealthy life choices such as smoking, drugs, risky sex encounters.   etc. habits will die sooner on average than people who choose otherwise.
Politicians who are promoting universal health care in the USA never tell you how much you will have to pay in additional taxes to fund their proposal. For example, if people do not have incentives to work, live healthy, not engage in smoking or drugs, or other risky health behaviors and get sick, are given free health care, the already underfunded Medicare trust fund will become bankrupt even sooner than it already is projected.
While there are numerous other nations in the world that have universal health care, there are numerous plans, options to supplement private care, etc., which indicates that although free health care is available, there is nothing new about the reality of people who have greater wealth will always have more or better resources to obtain better health care.
There is also the fact that health care costs in the USA are probably the most expensive, mainly because most medical personnel and facilities are more expensive in the USA even though the USA is not ranked the best health care in the world.
Another fact is In the USA the average age of mortality has advanced from 65 years in 1939 when social security began and retirement age was 65, Today the average mortality age is 78 years, which means of course, more in the red government funding because of longer term of life vs. amount paid into the fund.
The present reality is, most people who engage in unhealthy lifestyles will not live long enough lives to collect Medicare for extended periods.,
Obamacare
One main reason Obamacare funding is out of control is the law made no provisions for health incentives and require unlimited care.
Most people who engage in unhealthy choices in life, whether it pertains to smoking, drugs, risky sex, high cholesterol unhealthy food choices, risky motorcycles travel, etc. etc.  The majority of these people are now covered if they work and pays private insurers.
 In My Opinion?
Politicians ignoring past Surgeon General long-term effects of health warnings tin order to obtain short term additional tax money is not only a hypocrisy of fairness and justice, it is madness and folly to reward foolish personal health choices and make everyone pay their result health care.
Politicians must be called out to tell voters the facts.
In other words, “To let a fool speak his nonsense without reproof encourages him to remain wise in his own eyes and possibly gives credibility to his folly in the eyes of others. “
What to Do?
Any universal health care plan must require anyone who becomes eligible and able to work, must have incentives to require they are employed, and include incentives to reward people who do not engage in unhealthy, risky life choices, in other words, “if you want to play, you must pay.”

You Decide
Is it madness and folly for a Nation already 21 trillion dollars in debt to engage in a health plan without incentives to work to pay for the services?
Is it madness and folly of hypocrisy for the government to warn people about health hazards will at the same time promote unhealthy behaviors, and make everybody pay for the health care of people who may not work, pay taxes, or make foolish health choices?
Is it madness and folly to not increase age requirements for present Medicare retirement because of people living longer life sap and because of new medical discoveries?
Will Medicare for all result in” a jump from a frying pot into a fire” in the USA?
