King Solomon, Alcoholic, Pothead, Logical, Reasoning, Legislators?

Is it wise or foolish for a Government Leader to be an alcoholic or  pothead?

Three thousand years ago, King Solomon wrote a proverb to warn why it was not wise for a leader to be an alcoholic and gave reasons why. Would the same reasons apply to a pothead Legislator today? I believe so based on medically proven evidence provided in the Sources below.
King Solomon
It is not for kings, Lemuel– it is not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer,
lest they drink and forget what has been decreed, and deprive all the oppressed of their rights. (Proverb 31:4,5)
What is My Point?
Legislators are voting to approve legalized recreational marijuana in various States in the Nation. Logically, if they approve it, they must have first read and listened to medical knowledge how prolonged use will have debilitating effects on brain function over time.
So if they approve the use, are they now, or will they also choose to become alcoholics or pot heads?
In My Opinion
If so, should they logically resign based on the ancient proverb written by King Solomon. He was wise enough in his observations of people, without today’s proven medical evidences of how brain function is impaired, to understand why a legislator should not be an alcoholis or pothead.
If they are not potheads or alcoholics, and vote to approve it, does that makes them out to be elitists or hypocrites for approving a drug they dare not use in order to make wise unimpaired decisions?
You Decide
Do you want your Legislators to make decisions on your behalf with drug or alcoholic medically impaired brains?
If you were an employer, would you promote a worker to be a leader who is an alcoholic or pothead to make decisions on your behalf with their medically proven impaired brains?
Is it in the best interests of our Nation to increase the number of citizens making decisions, or driving around public roads with medically impaired brain functions. Don’t we now have enough based on what we read, see and hear in the news on a daily basis?
If you had to choose between the two major political parties in the USA, which one would you surmise to have more Legislator’s logic and reasoning decisions appear to be similar to the same symptoms of potheads or alcoholics described by the CDC in the Sources below?
Is my logic convoluted or are the Legislators who seem to have forgotten, or misinterpret, “what has been decreed,” in their logic and reasoning by “depriving all of the oppressed of their rights.”  Constitutional, Religious, Life or Limb Risks, Rights, in the USA?
Regards and goodwill blogging.
