When is it wise to stop giving?
Many politicians may believe in taxing the rich to give to the poor. However, many rich taxpayers do not believe they should share their wealth with the non-deserving.
In my earlier blog posting titled King Solomon and Sharing Wealth, I surmised, based on proverbs, how King Solomon may have explained why the rich should share their wealth with the poor. However, there are wise limitations on friends.
The novel is a contemporary application of a story form to promote understanding of proverbs and ancient wise sayings in relation to our modern times.
Novel Excerpt
“A poor man that comes to rely entirely on a friend or benefactors to endlessly give to them and purposely avoids honest labor to improve their circumstance will become the same as the family of a leech. I have studied the leech and found that it possesses two suckers to draw blood from their prey. Wisdom cautions not to give endlessly to the non-deserving or you will take on the burden to support an undeserving friend who has in effect become attached to him in the same manner as a leech.” The leech has two daughters, Give, Give. (Proverb 30:15)
