Illinois Religion Math Conundrum? King Solomon Blog

Will Governor Pritzker’s proposed budget proposal math help increase or decrease State tax revenue in Illinois and perhaps help speed up voters to elect legislators to support school choice or school vouchers in Illinois?

The Chicago Tribune article titled: The two linchpins to Pritzker’s budget, DC and Democrats reported the linchpins. The one linchpin is questionable on math as to whether it will increase or decrease the States revenues according to this following statement

“The Opportunity Scholarship program enacted under former Gov. Bruce Rainer has helped more than 20,000 students — many of them stuck at low-performing public schools — attend private schools without taxpayer money. Private donors who support the program receive a tax credit on their Illinois income taxes. Pritzker proposes to chop the credit donors would receive, making it a less attractive program for donors who support school choice and are more generous due to the tax credit.

Fewer kids would be eligible for the scholarships; there’s already high demand and a waiting list. “

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate and ancient wisdom verse to question the math of this proposal/

King Solomon

“Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.” (Ecclesiastes 1:2 NIV)

What’s My Point?

If we question the math surmising that the private religious schools will not be able to afford to accept the 20,000 students now attending, and they leave the school to attend a public school, it will result in the State having to pay the average State payment per student of $13,000 x 20,000 or $students to add to the budget.

The Total being $260,000,000 to be paid by taxpayers.

I do not know how much the State budget math surmised the State would gain by their budget proposal

However, if you consider that if the private schools lose 20,000 students more school closings will add to the totals even more.

In other words, the math may be meaningless and may hopefully spur taxpayers to consider that the entire public school system of government run schools need to change to school choice or school vouchers.

In My Opinion

If the Illinois budget passes as presented, and if you read a previous post of the math which explains the difference in costs per student be paid to fund of private resinous schools to public schools, there is are billions of dollars difference.

Billions of dollars savings that taxpayers might wake up and vote for legislators to support school choice or school vouchers which is now possible. Possible because of the 2020 Supreme Court ruling that overturned as unconstitutional for States to pass laws to prevent taxpayers’ funds be used for private religious schools because it violates their First Amendment Rights.

Then add that private schools somehow managed to stay open during the pandemic, plus students achieve higher test score results, plus most parents especially in poor poverty areas want to send their children to school of their choice for various reasons, mainly because they want their children to learn their religious values or according to the following statement.

“Black parents love charter schools and voucher-supported private school vouchers because they teach values, self-respect, and hope. But no, if this option for poor or lower-~income parents has more Democrat opposition than ever.”

You Decide

Is the budget math prove “”Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.”

Will or should, the proposed budget “help speed up voters to elect legislators to support school choice or school vouchers in Illinois???”

An Awakening First Step Finally? King Solomon Blog

Will a news report in the Wall Street Journal become the first step to awake the USA on the issue of school choice or school vouchers?

The Wall Street Journal commentary in the Chicago Tribune titled: About School Choice contained this statement:

“Parents of color don’t have a lot of choice and resources.” (about the schools they attend because there is no school choice.”

Another WSJ article titled: School Choice: Better Than Prozac

“A new study reports less suicide among children with education options.”

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate an ancient proverb and information about how school choice or school vouchers not only about charter schools’ choices, but private religious schools are beginning to awaken in the USA because it is both wise and no longer unconstitutional in States because of the 2020 Supreme Court Decision.

King Solomon

“How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? (Proverb 1:22)

What’s My Point?

Rhode Island school board has taken the first step, which is to address the issue of school choice for the most needed and vulnerable children and parents’ requests and needs instead of teacher’s unions.

For example, this statement in previous posts:

“Black parents love charter schools and voucher-supported private school vouchers because they teach values, self-respect, and hope. But no, if this option for poor or lower-~income parents has more Democrat opposition than ever.”

The WSJ article contained this statement

“One reason is that charter and private schools enforce stricter discipline than traditional public schools. Choice programs also allow parents to pull their kids out of public schools if they are struggling and send them to schools that are safer or a better cultural fit.”

My point is not only having the Supreme Court decision made it possible to end the inequality of parents who cannot afford to send their children to charter schools, but also to private religious schools of their choice.

In My Opinion

Wisdom has been defined as obtaining understanding leading to knowledge to discern various matters, we all will experience in life.

Some experiences will sadly include being discriminated because of being born with different color skin, or to believe in religion and have to pay two tuition to pass on religious values for our children to be taught in depth in a private religious school because we, both Blacks, and now middle-class families cannot afford to “…. have a lot of choice and resources.”.

In my opinion, now is the time to contact your legislative representatives to pass laws to undo the inequity that was supposedly ended after the civil war which is to remove unconstitutional Blaine Amendments to prevent public funds be used to fund private schools instead of union controlled secular schools’ teachings that parents do not want taught to their children because they are not their cultural values

You Decide

Will the Rhode Island school board decision result in a first step long overdue which was supposedly righted after the civil war?

Will the news media report the news about this issue to parents so they can become aware and contact their legislators that school choice or school vouchers is what they want them to focus on in 2021?

Would King Solomon judge USA parents to be “simpletons” for allowing 200 years to pass by before we address the inequities of school choice or school vouchers by our Legislators and Legislative bodies to ignore the issue of school choice or school vouchers that parents want and pay taxes for their children, not the government or unions children?

USA Education Secretary Pick Conundrum? King Solomon Blog

Will the election of Joe Biden be a setback for school choice or school vouchers in the future?

The Chicago Tribune article titled: CTU files action to stop opening, reported the following statement:

“Pandemic-related closures have disproportionately affected inner-city families that rely on public education. Young kids of color are some of the hardest hit,”,

In Hawaii, an article report posed this question.

“Should parents be forced to send their children back to school even when they feel it is unsafe? At least one Hawaii public school is saying yes.”:

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate an ancient proverb to the events and question why parents instead of teacher unions or government officials should make the final decision to overrule parents who want their children to attend school, whether it be public or private.

King Solomon

Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.

They are a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck. (Proverbs 1:8-9)

What’s My Point?

I understand the world in in the middle of a pandemic. I also understand that there are various types of households with elderly parents or teachers who have credible fears of children going to school and passing the virus to parents or grandparents living in the same household.

Teachers are basically servants of the public and private needs for education. Parents are in need of teacher’s services and must be included in any decision whether or not to choose to send their children to school.

And it is the responsibility of both school supervisory personnel to make certain that adequate safety measures are employed to safeguard in school children while under their care.

My point is there are numerous private schools open or only briefly shutdown who have managed to allow for both in school attendance, why not public schools?

In My Opinion

I believe many well-intentioned voters chose Joe Biden in the election and did not consider it will be a setback for school choice of school vouchers which would benefit and return responsibility from public mandated school secular teachings to parents’ choice. Choice to pass on their religious values with in depth teaching instead of socialist secularist leaning government legislators?

In our contemporary times, religious values and morals are waning and, in my opinion, along with proof of studies, makes a difference for families and communities to avoid making foolish choices on their paths in life.

Each community has various considerations to consider about the pandemic and the number of hospitals or medical care available in relation to the severity of the pandemic. However, for a government body to mandate children must attend school without a parent’s consent is folly and a form of socialism.

You Decide

Who is most responsible to earn and “wear the garlands around their head” “for making it their responsibility to choose to make the final decision where and what morals they want their children to learn during their most impressionable and vulnerable times in life?

Would single family poor or middle-class families living in high crime urban areas benefit more in comparison two parent children in affluent communities, or would the children be somehow deprived if they attended a private religious school of their parents’ choice?

Which is a wiser solution, parents or teacher unions choice for “Pandemic-related closures have disproportionately affected inner-city families that rely on public education. Young kids of color are some of the hardest hit,”?

Catholic Voter Guides, Abortion, School Choice? King Solomon Blog

Should a Catholic in good conscious vote for a candidate who supports taxpayer funded abortions and supports the issue that Catholics must pay two tuitions, one for public schools and one for private religious schools?

I read a Citizen Tom Blog about his State and passing laws to fund abortion and various voter guides for families.

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate an ancient proverb to the question facing Catholics on the issue of abortion when a candidate supports the issue of tax payer funding of abortion in their State in the near future if Democrat candidates win the 2020 Presidential Election.

King Solomon

9Now the LORD grew angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice. 10Although He had warned Solomon explicitly not to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the LORD’s command. (Kings 11:10)

What’s My Point?

Those familiar with the story of King Solomon know that Solomon’s downfall was the result of his belief he was as wise as his Maker and decided to worship idols in spite of his religious commandments.

There are various definitions of an idol. For example, a Biblical definition is:

 4. Anything on which we set our affections; that to which we indulge an excessive and sinful attachment.

I read a couple of Catholic voter guides that give advice for  Catholics to discern all the broad issues in the election and then “vote their conscious.”

While many of the issues imply the Republican Party supports  racism and is anti -immigration which  may or may not be true based on what news media sources  we choose to listen and believe are true or false.

However, Catholics or any other faiths must discern based on their individual consciences whether they believe two issues.

1.Using their tax funds to fund abortion.

2. Using their taxes and personal finances to fund both pubic secular education by having to pay tuition to fund sending their children to a private religious school to be taught in depth the religious values.

Most people are not aware that this year the Supreme Court ruled that it was unconstitutional for States to pass laws that made it unlawful to use public funds for private schools’ tuitions. Or in other words to end bigotry against Catholics which has existed since the end of the civil war.

States like Florida now allow funding for private schools for children and families unable to afford paying tuition to send their children to private religious schools of their choice.

While Love for fellow living humans is a basic Catholic issue about concerns about racism and immigration, Wisdom should also be considered based on the message of the Bible based on both Love and Wisdom.

My point is on the issue of being a party by voting for a candidate or party fund a sinful abortion listed on the Democrat Party Platform, can be interpreted as repeating the same folly of King Solomon.

Folly of believing they are a wise as their Maker and discern they are capable of discernment to believe they should kneel before other idols or issues that are sinful in the eyes of their Maker.

And on the issue of school choice, only the Republican Party supports school choice. And why is it being fair to any religious family to have to pay two tuitions. Two tuitions for the term of sending their children to private religious schools doting their school years and one more tuition to fund public only schools using their taxes for the rest of every taxpayer’s life?

In My Opinion

There is another King Solomon verse written in Ecclesiastes, when King Solomon realized the folly of the path he took in his life. Or the folly of believing he was as wise as his maker.

For Example

Thus, I considered all my activities which my hands had done and the labor which I had exerted, and behold all was vanity and striving after wind and there was no profit under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 2:11)

Anyone who is among the living has hope –even a live dog is better off than a dead lion! (Ecclesiastes 9:4)

In other words, in my opinion, on the issue of abortion, vote for hope for the living and the future, not for idols or issues based on vanity issues that over time may change one way or another way same the issues that “blow around in the wind.”.

And on the issue of school choice, only the Republicans support school choice on their party platform.

Is the motto of this blog stimulate your conscious on the issue of voting for a candidate who believes they are wiser than their Maker and will support abortion funding of your taxes to kill hope?

Helplessness vs. Constructiveness Wisdom? King Solomon Blog

Interested in a news reality how teaching religion and psychology help us to overcome helplessness to be constructive in life for ourselves, families, communities, and Nation?

The pandemic has certainly promoted psychological effects of helplessness in the lives of the 53 percent of people who live from week to week wages and lost their jobs because they work in businesses that government has quartered or prevented from operating to prevent the spread of the virus.

The Chicago Tribune article today report huge increases in the sale of legal recreational marijuana in Illinois, along with increase in criminal violence, shootings, etc. etc.

And because very few people arrested are tested for drugs, no one knows if the persons actions were because they were being fueled by drugs to engage in criminal or foolish actions.

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate ancient wisdom proverbs that most people have never been taught in public schools which if Proverbs had been taught would have, in my opinion, provided constructive guidance to prevent or reduce destructive feelings of helplessness that is fueling crime, violence, and drug use in our Nation.

King Solomon

Open your mouth for the mute,

For the rights of all the unfortunate.

Open your mouth, judge righteously,

And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy. (Proverbs 31:8-9)

Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well. (Ecclesiastes 11:6)

What’s My Point?

In a Blog Post yesterday I stated Congress is playing games with another economic stimulus for the poor and helpless, in my opinion, to win the 2020 election.

My point is if perhaps the above Wisdom and Love verses were taught to children, the phones in Congress would be ringing loud and clear for the political power games to end.

In My Opinion

If the government decides to shut down a business it should provide a reasonable means to help subsidize the helpless 53 percent living week to week.

Instead of borrowing the funds, it should place a pandemic tax during the pandemic to help those in need because of government shutdowns.

And in my opinion, if religion is taught, there would be a lot more people willing to speak out for the unfortunate in our Nation, and working to get rid of politicians playing games to hold up immediate aid in order to pass a package of aid to win an election.
