King Solomon, What is a Good Faith Belief by an Employer….

…who supervises a school bus driver, airplane pilot, policeman carrying a gun, anyone carrying a gun, etc. etc.?

The Chicago Tribune article titled, Should Doctors and factory workers be allowed to use weed when it becomes legal? Safety nonprofit urges employers to ban marijuana use for those in sensitive jobs.
The article explains the new law with this following phrase:
“Under the Illinois law, employers may consider workers to be impaired if the employer “has a good faith belief” that employees are showing symptoms that impact their job performance, such as those related to speech, physical dexterity, agility, coordination and demeanor, among others. “
The Purpose of This Post
Is to wonder about the wisdom of the new law?
For example, will every employee in a “sensitive job” category  be screened by a supervisor to determine in “good faith”  before they operate any machinery of any kind that could hurt either the employee, the employer, and the customer.”
King Solomon
“It is not for kings, O Lemuel– not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer,
lest they drink and forget what the law decrees, and deprive all the oppressed of their rights.
Give beer to those who are perishing, wine to those who are in anguish;
let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more. (Proverbs 31”5-7)
What’s My Point?
Three thousand years ago the above wisdom advice was given to Kings and Princes. In our contemporary times it can be related to leaders.
Related this wisdom advice to any leader. An employer (King) and his Prince (Supervisor), and whether it is wine, alcohol, drugs, and/or marijuana or any hemp derivative with THC.
Then consider what the practicality of any leader having to make a “good faith belief decision” inspection of every employee before they operate any machinery before they or someone in their charge is harmed..
Then relate the practicality of a any leader be sued and having to explain why his “good faith belief” can be proven without a blood test.
In My Opinion
The law is pure, unadulterated, unpractical folly.

You Decide
Will you spend time now to examine the school bus driver to make your own “good faith belief” that he or she is not drug impaired?
Will every employer and supervisor do the same?
Are you aware that police are trained for obvious signs of drug impairment when they encounter unlawful behavior?
Will lawyers be kept busy defending employers and employees once this law goes into effect?
Will you or yours be an accuser or a victim of legalized marijuana Law after the fact?
Will employers that require employees to use machinery in Illinois ever consider exodus from Illinois in the future after they are held responsible for not inspecting each employee to make a good faith decision to determine if they will hurt themselves or a victim as a result of their employee impairment?
Do you have a “good faith” that the practicality of this law is wise or foolish?
Legal use of recreational marijuana enforcement law, wise or foolish?
Regards and good will blogging.
