Is what purpose we choose to seek in life make a difference whether or not it is a “waste of time?”
The Purpose of This Post
Is to compare the wisdom or folly of three ancient sayings about what purposes we may be “seeking” in life that are a waste of time.
Ani – 1292 BC
To seek without finding, equals waste of time. [Papyrus of Ani, modified]
King Solomon – 1000 BC
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..(Ecclesiastes 3:1)
17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. (Ecclesiastes 3:17)
Jesus Christ – 2000 years ago
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7)
What’s My Point?
There is a difference in purpose of what Christians seek in life compared to Atheists.
In the USA, no one is required to have a purpose in life other than to not break the laws in our communities and Nation.
What wisdom advice is pertinent in relation to the difference of purposes in life that Atheists seek from the purpose of a Christian Deist who believes in this following Bible verse.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged:
and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. (Mathew 7:2)
In My Opinion
The Ani proverb gave wise advice that seeking without finding is a waste of time.
King Solomon Ecclesiastes addressed the limited time in life we humans have and gave advice that there is a purpose for every work.
Jesus Christ preached that if we seek God in our life, a door will be opened to enter His Heavenly Kingdom.
In my opinion, if an atheist chooses not to seek God in their life. and/or a heavenly reward, it is their free choice to do so.
What I find concerning though about some atheists is what drives many of them to engage in a purpose to prove there is no God and challenge faith believers about their Deist beliefs.
Frankly, in my opinion, it is a waste of time for atheists to attempt to prove that a Diest is in error to believe in God and likewise for a Deist to prove there is a God to an atheist.
That is partly because according to the above Ani proverb, since they cannot prove there is no God, it is a waste of time.
In other words, an atheist’s ends to disprove existence of a God are of neither productive or may be of any matter, in all honesty, to a Deist.
