King Solomon on Hillary Clinton’s Wisdom

 

This Proverb in relation to Hillary Clinton’s email controversy may be a revealing clue to her wisdom as well as her mindset.

As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, the mind of a king is unsearchable. (Proverb 25:3) 

This verse is concerned with the caliber of a king. He as king whose glory it is to press investigations of affairs with the utmost rigor and resolution is himself unsearchable. The heavens are so high that their ceiling is beyond human reach and the earth is inaccessible by reason of its depths. A king’s mind has its heights and depth, with a range and a subtlety and complexity which baffle those who would study it as an object to be described, analyzed and definitively explained. This is interesting as an indication of the kind of person a king was expected to be and what was desiderated in a king. He is immensely resourceful and mobile in his thinking, so that his mind cannot be catalogued and his responses predicted; and he is splendidly inscrutable, so that he does not give away the direction of his thinking and keeps others guessing as to what his next move will be. These qualities enhance his power and tighten his grip on affairs. (Proverbs Mc Kane)

Commentary

I would hope we could find and elect a man or women who meets the above description. However, our Constitution prevents a President from acting on their own like a king or queen. The reason is history has recorded all too often how power corrupted too many kings and queens.

So what is the answer to this dilemma who to vote for to represent us in Government?  I surmise King Solomon might offer this wise advice for voters to consider.

Truthful speech lasts forever, but false speech only for a moment. (Proverb 12:19)

Wisdom

Wisdom requires the ability to discern truth in order to make good common sense decisions and judgments. Truth is strength that will withstand the test of time. Falsehoods are fragile and will fall to the ground and be detected and discredited.

We voters in a democracy have a dilemma when we vote for a President. We have to choose a representative to use his or her Constitution powers in a wise and truthful manner.

I suggest we pray to the heavens before we vote to choose someone we expect to be a wise and truthful man or woman to trust same as our nation’s motto. In God we Trust.

As for Hillary Clinton, she has decided her email actions will be unsearchable. The question of her being truthful will be up to the voters who will vote for who they believe the can trust. Whether or not the elected representatives are truthful will become known in time by their actions while in office.

Who will you trust when you vote for a President to emulate our nation’s motto with his or her actions for four years? Who will you believe is telling you the truth when they run for office?

If the person has shown not to be truthful in the past, perhaps we should consider the virtue of truth as well as trust in our equation of who to vote for in the next election. Four years may feel even longer when you consider this saying. “Time passes quickly when you are having fun.”

In my opinion, too often we make decisions that are the “lesser of two evils.” Why that happens is for the same reasons we allow it to happen to both ourselves and our democratic government.
