King Solomon Upside Down

Three thousand years ago, King Solomon wrote to describe what occurs when fools rule over the wise. What becomes evident when this occurs? Read on if you are interested.
First, you need to know what the ancient definition of the word “rich” was in order to put Solomon’s statement in current context. A rich person was usually considered to be wise or competent. Not only because of his birth or wealth. It was because a person born into a rich family would have received education and training in the skills of diplomacy and wise conduct required as fit to be competent enough to sit with decision maker’s circles to counsel a ruler. A poor man would not have had the opportunity to receive this same training and as a result, it was rare that he would ever be assigned to duties of leadership and management by a ruler.

A wise ruler would also understand that his counselors were wise righteous men with basic common sense.
Some of the signs that you will recognize when fools rule over the “rich,” meaning, ”wise.”
*** A fool lets everyone know he is a fool.  But whenever we see things turned upside down – whenever a society celebrates immorality, perpetrates wrongful violence, punishes righteousness, denies the authority of God,  or persecutes it people – we may be sure folly is in control.
Fools are put in many high positions, while the rich occupy the low ones. (Ecclesiastes 10:6)
***Unfortunately, there are many foolish people in government. As foolish as they are, they never the less work their way into positions of political leadership. Some are completely incompetent. Others use their position for personal advantage. They are more interested in their status than their service. By the time their folly is exposed, it is too late, the damage has been done. Afterward, people wonder how they ever got put in charge.
If you recognize anyone in office that seems to meet the above descriptions, we have an opportunity in the next few weeks to vote some of them out and restore some right side up, badly needed in Washington, in my opinion. Choose wisely before you vote, especially if you are considering an incumbent. Perhaps you should check out his or her voting record. Just google Congressional Voting Record and choose from a number of sources.
Remember, because we can vote In the USA, we are the masters of our own disasters.
Regards and good will blogging.
