King Solomon Blog, Eating the Fruit of Own Devices?

Did we lose our way because of our complacency and foolish counsel?

The Chicago Tribune column titled, Economy won’t reopen with a bang, despite the White House Wishes, reports the writer’s opinions.

This same columnist over time lauded the merits of economic globalism opposite President Trump.

The Purpose of This Post

Is to relate how the fantasy of globalism once lauded by this columnist has proven to be folly in our contemporary times because of foolish counsel of past economic and political leaders.

King Solomon

…30They accepted none of my counsel; they despised all my reproof. 31So they will eat the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. 32For the waywardness of the simple will slay them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them.… (Proverbs 1:30-32)

What’s My Point?

Our nation leaders have known of the risks of another pandemic since 1918 and became complacent by allowing the USA to outsource manufacturing capabilities to other nations and now the folly has become sadly apparent by what we are now experiencing. Namely the ability to quickly respond to our nations needs for critical medical supplies.

For example, 90 percent of our medical needs for facemasks, and medical supplies and equipment used in the USA are outsourced. If we had the manufacturing capacity, we could now be supplying every person with M95 facemasks and protective apparel to allow people to safely travel to return to work and engage socially.

In My Opinion

If medical personnel in hospitals treating coronavirus patients are safely working side by side because they are wearing protective apparel and facemasks, and the public had access to the same, our Nation and economy could have responded to prevented the curve from peaking much quicker than our present mandatory method of quarantine.

For Example, in World War II every manufacturing facility had available machinery to quickly change our Nation to provide armaments to the world.

Anyone with manufacturing experience knows how long it takes to manufacture machinery that is now located thousands of miles away and being used to supply their own Nation needs.

Hopefully, instead of continually attacking President Trump who has been the strongest proponent to return manufacturing to the USA, this sad experience we are now experiencing will hopefully take us back from the wayward path of folly of listening to foolish political, economic, and news columnists pundits that did not listen to the concerns and warnings about not relying on other nations for critical parts, equipment, and supplies in time of crisis such as a pandemic or war.

In other words, if manufacturing equipment was located in the USA instead of China, instead of workers being quarantined at home, they could have been working while with our own devices while wearing protective equipment to supply everyone in the USA to be doing the same.

If Interested

Read the Chicago Tribune article in the Source Links below and numerous previous posts of warning over the years about the folly of outsourcing manufacturing from the USA.

Your Decide.

Was total dependency of globalism for critical supplies and equipment wise or foolish?

Would teaching children conservative Proverbial Wisdom based on experiences of previous generations instead of liberal or progressive theories that have been proven folly as evidenced in history create a bigger bang of wisdom and love in the future of our Nation and World that has been available for thousands of years?

Is dependency on counsel to promote globalism the real fantasy?

Regards and goodwill blogging.
