Has the dichotomy of good vs. evil religion and secular laws changed over time?
The Chicago Tribune article titled, Man Slashing ‘Baby Trump’ was matter of good vs evil, reported a man “has defended his actions saying it was a matter of good vs. evil”
The Purpose of This Post
Is to attempt to discern the wisdom or folly of the slasher’s statement in our contemporary times compared to ancient times.
King Solomon.
An evil man seeks only rebellion; so, a cruel messenger will be sent against him. It is better to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than a fool in his folly. If anyone returns evil for good, evil will never leave his house. a quarrel is to release a flood; so, abandon the dispute before it breaks out. (Proverbs 17:11-14)
What’s My Point?
Political disputes have apparently released a flood of quarreling in the USA. Antifa mobs’ attacks in the news against Trump and now a man fueled up by news reports has made a statement that the quarrel is more than political differences, it is between good vs. evil.
Which political party is good and which is evil is now in question for discernment?
My point is to question who should judge and decide that their political views are good and the others are evil?
In order to discern this question, I looked up and found that this question is no longer a simple question because good vs. Evil in our contemporary world from ancient times.
In My Opinion
We need a simple answer rather than a lengthy discernment explanation of what is good and what is evil that I read.
In ancient times anyone who breaks the laws of God would be considered evil or immoral.
In our contemporary times we have civic laws based on hopefully moral principles.
In other words, it is not wise for legislative leaders to pick and choose which laws are immoral instead of either enforcing or changing the laws.
When legislators dispute and quarrel among themselves in public, their example can inflame their constituents to act like a bear protecting his cubs.
If they return evil for good, the evil will never leave their house (Nation.)

You Decide
Is it wise or foolish for legislators to determine which laws are immoral and ignore the laws?
If you are a parent, would you consider it wise or foolish to act like a fool in front of your children and then expect them not to act the same?
Is understanding what is good vs. evil similar to discern what is wise vs. foolish?
Should legislators be engaged in enforcing and/or changing laws and giving good rather evil, wise rather than foolish, public examples of behavior to their constituents?
Should understanding the difference of good vs. evil really be so complicated?
