Bob Dylan, “Pure Evil,” Blowing in the Wind? (Repost Favorite)

Is there a correlation of a 1963 hit song and King Solomon?

Today’s news in the USA about violence of “pure evil” begs for an answer. Citizen Tom brought up five topics of which everyone seems to have expert opinions how to solve. However, the real expert answers have been in existence for over 3000 years ago.
Yet we keep chasing the same blowing winds all over the earth over and over in each new generation.
The subject of this post is beg the question why we keep asking and praying for answers to the follies that keep blowing past us, when we have had the answers for thousands of years.
King Solomon
Blowing toward the south, Then turning toward the north, The wind continues swirling along; And on its circular courses the wind returns. (Ecclesiastes 1:6)
Plato’s definition of it,
“the wind is the motion of the air round about the earth (y).”
This also exemplifies the rotation of men and things, the instability, inconstancy, and restless state of all sublunary enjoyments; the unprofitableness of men’s labours, who, while they labour for riches and honour, and natural knowledge, labour for the wind, and fill their belly with east wind, which cannot satisfy,
This also is a grievous evil– exactly as a man is born, thus will he die. So what is the advantage to him who toils for the wind? (Ecclesiastes 5:16)
As well as the frailty of human life, which is like the wind that passes away and comes not again; and in this respect, like the rest of the instances, exceed man, which returns to its place, but man does not, .

In My Opinion
Frankly Citizen Tom, we do not need any more experts. As for prayers,  perhaps God is getting tired of hearing our prayers? HERE
King Solomon’s wisdom identifies the reasons why we chase the wind and his wisdom what to do in our lives.
The Song verses tell us the answers are there in the wind, we just have to grab them.
In my opinion, God blessed us with wisdom answers of King Solomon 3000 years ago. He blessed us with love answers with Jesus Christ 2000 years ago.
All the answers are in the Bible, if only we grab them instead of repeating the same follies of previous generations, over and over, and over, again.
“What the world needs now in addition to love is wisdom”
“We are the masters of our own disasters”
You Decide
Will you chase the wind on your paths in life, or grab the ancient answers circling about the earth over and over and over, again, and again, and again?
