What do these two now have in common?
So now we have Kim Davis, a county clerk imprisoned for contempt of court for her refusal to obey the Supreme Court because she believes God’s law of marriage is only between a man and a woman and is immoral according to her religious faith. How long will she remain in jail is now a hot political issue. However, at least she does not have to worry about the Supreme Court beheading her because some Supreme Court Justices have stated in the past that they will refuse to rule on any death penalty because it is …………………………….immoral.
So what would King Solomon have to say about this predicament? I chose this proverb to compare Kim Davis to Sir Thomas More
Ecclesiastes 3 Seasons
16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
By the way, the title of a movie about Sir Thomas More was… A Man for All Seasons. Pope Pius XI canonised More and Fisher on 19 May 1935, Pope John Paul II declared More “the heavenly Patron of Statesmen and Politicians”.
