What is different about the present fear and anxiety of coronavirus flu vs. seasonal flu in the USA?

Is to compare coronavirus to seasonal flu statistics. Hopefully this information coupled with ancient wisdom may reduce anxiety for concerned readers to discern.

What’s My Point?
If you compare the CDC number of seasonal flus that occurred in 2018 of 35.5 million who contracted a seasonal flu to the estimated 40 million in the article, frankly, I am not certain that the totals may add up to 80 million combined.
What concerns me and government is the difference between seasonal flu has known effective medications to hopefully cure those who are affected while coronavirus does not.
Those who are elderly will incur a higher risk of mortality because of normal aging that reduces lung capacity as we age, or of course have a history of ling or immunity disorders.
My point is unless you are high risk, even if you contract coronavirus, according to the statistics, you will not die. We all need to be aware and take common sense precautions to prevent this flu from spreading either flu in our communities, especially high-risk age groups.
In My Opinion
While I applaud government and news for their efforts to flatten the curve as the article explains, this pandemic, unless you are my age, if you contract coronavirus, the statistics indicate it will be an inconvenience rather than a death sentence.
