Is this Newsweek opinion proven factual? “Now, the coronavirus epidemic has proven the socialists completely right.”
The Purpose of This Post
In Post One I stated I would explore the Newsweek opinion that the time is right in the USA for socialized medicine, or was socialized medicine really any more effective than how the pandemic was handled in the USA?

What’s My Point?
The Newsweek opinion began with a statement that Bernie Sanders Medicare for all:” “the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), understands that the health care status quo may be profitable for large corporations, but that it is a disaster for the American people.”
The problem with this statement is that the WHO announcement that 95 percent of Europe COVID-19 fatalities were over 60 years of age.
In the USA, the CDC statistics breakdown the ages of victims indicate that yes indeed, the virus has a significantly higher rate of fatalities and need for hospitalization in the elderly “baby boomers”
However, in the USA, Medicare covers the costs for the elderly.
Corporations are being forced by the pandemic to lay off employees to survive financially.
While I believe when a person is laid off because of this 100-year pandemic, and the present costs for an employee to pay for medical insurance is significant and for many unaffordable, I hope that the USA government will forgive hospital costs to laid off employees who require hospitalization.
My point is the Newsweek opinion that Medicare for all would have been better for the Americans now experiencing the pandemic is not really factual.
When in fact, the fatality rates with Europe which has various versions of free hospitalizations compared to the USA requirement for people to be employed to obtain medical insurance.
In My Opinion
The pros and cons of Medicare for all based on how the USA government has responded to the pandemic, is not a factual argument to prove the writers claim title: “The Time is Right for Socialism” in the USA.
Rather the article proves a previous statement made by Rahm Emmanuel when he was chief of staff of the Obama administration.
“Never allow a good crisis go to waste. It’s an opportunity to do the things you once thought were impossible.”

I will explain my opinion of who is to blame for the high rate of fatalities and spread of COVID-19 in the USA in comparison to the recommendations of a Washington Post Article titled: Let’s make sure this crisis doesn’t go to waste.
