King Solomon, Wood Fires, Church Fires, News Media, Politicians?

What are the underlying causes of church burnings in history and the above entities?

The Chicago Tribune article titled, After Paris Fire, donations soar to help 3 black churches in La., reported how the churches “were longtime pillars,” “sacred to those who worshipped inside.”
The Purpose of the Post
Is to relate a King Solomon proverb to the common causes of church fires and news media.
King Solomon
Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out,…. Or “woods” (h); where there is a large quantity of wood or fuel, the fire is kept up; but where there is little, scarce any or none at all, it goes out of course;
So where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth; or is silent (i): men cease to quarrel one with another; they hold their peace and are silent, when there are none to bring tales from one to another, or any whisperer or backbiter to suggest evil things of each other; or when such are discouraged on both sides, and their tales are not listened to; or when they are detected and thrust out of doors, as they deserve, then strife subsides, and peace ensues. Contention is like a fire, the flame of which is blown up by talebearers and whisperers, who are as incendiaries, and as such are to be treated. ( Gils Bible Commentary)
What’s My Point?
In history, there are many records of acts by conquerors to burn down churches, or temples. The purposes are mainly linked to acts to obtain or exert power to destroy speech and exert power over minds and bodies by the conquerors.
In the USA, where freedom of speech is a Right, news media can also become a powerful source to conquer minds and bodies when they report gossip instead of news.
My point is freedom of speech is actually a new born baby in comparison to history and time. When news medial reports gossip instead of news, it acts the same as the ancient proverb describes, “where there is no wood, there is no fire.”
In My Opinion,
The USA is listening to a lot of gossip in the news and by medial pundits’ commentary. The internet is adding even more wood to fire up the present political and religious divisiveness taking place in the USA.
The laws that protect free press from divulging their sources, or leaks, is fueling the fire by making it impossible for the average citizen to differentiate between facts and gossip.
This blog lists all Source Links to hopefully link sources. Perhaps news media should do the same to prevent gossip. And if they cannot do so, “they should hold their peace and be silent.”
