Sadly, the truth about the history of this “Perspective” is far worse.
The Chicago Tribune Perspective article titled, I am 18, I Belong To The Massacre Generation, reports the rememberings of shootings in the news during his short span of life in the USA. She is a member of Generation Z.
I am a member of the Silent Generation described as follows:
“Research collected between 2010 and 2013 found that the Silent Generation is the happiest generation in America, followed by the Boomers (born 1946 to 1964), Generation X (born 1965 to 1980), and Millennials (born 1980 to 2000).”

What’s My Point?
I was born two years after the above 1938 Regulations.
What I remember experiencing and reading about massacres that occurred just in my lifetime makes me wonder why my generation was categorized as the “Happiest Generation.”
The only thing that I could discern is that back in 1940, children we were more apt to be exposed and taught a religious faith to help experience, the good or bad, happy or sad, “: seasons in life” we had to experience and endure.
In My Opinion
The major reason we all have to endure the majority of “bad seasons” in life is because of human folly.
“We are the masters of our own disasters.”
Sorry to say, when it comes to “the massacre generation,” sadly, every generation in history can qualify to make the same sorrid statement based on history.
“What the world needs now in addition to love is wisdom.”
