You Decide?
After reading a blog post from DOUG, a self-admitting “Trump Hater,” that ended with his statement, “Well, if I live to get to see Trump leave office, in shame preferably, I will consider myself fulfilled.”
My comment to him was “he should read Ecclesiastes.”
The purpose of this post is to explain why he and all millennials should read and study Ecclesiastes
Some Excerpts from his post.
“By the 2020 election, they (millennials) will exceed the boomer generation.”
“They are the most racially diverse generation and the most likely to live in metro areas.”
“They’re more likely to be unmoored from social institutions — the most likely to be religiously unaffiliated and the least likely to be married.”
“and many feel as if they’re inheriting a mess they didn’t make.”
King Solomon
“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
What is crooked cannot be straightened; what is lacking cannot be counted. (Ecclesiastes (1:15)
Then I turned my thoughts to consider wisdom, and also madness and folly. What more can the king’s successor do than what has already been done? (Ecclesiastes 2:12)
What’s My Point?
In spite of King Solomon’s 3000-year-old observations and advice about how every new generation will repeat the follies of the past generations, that is unless they wise up,
History has proven each new generation will repeat the same times of life as explained in Ecclesiastes. Many will think they know better than the previous generations and can straighten out “what was lacking” in their previous generations, then wind up repeating the same follies as the past generation, because they believe they know better.
What is even sadder today is if each new generation was taught Ecclesiastes in their youth, they might wise up and not repeat the same follies.
In other words, realize our Creator has a purpose to give us the choice how to walk on a straight path to avoid all the crooked paths that we choose to follow if only we would understand how to trust and follow in life the advice of Wisdom and Love in the Bible.
In My Opinion.
Millennials should be concerned about the fact that they are indeed “inheriting the mess they didn’t make.” For example, in the USA, the National Debt exceeds twenty trillion dollars they will somehow have to face in their future.
The news about a millennial being elected in a metro area and expressing her convictions that relate to repeating socialism, a proven failed idealism that led to millions of deaths and destruction along with quashing freedoms, seems to be repeating on the minds of millennials once again.

In my opinion, there is something lacking in the wisdom of your statement about “being fulfilled.”
It will take too long to explain in any posts why, Perhaps if you read this book titled, Ecclesiastes, Why Everything Matters, by Phillip Graham Ryken, perhaps you will better understand why.
As for your post title, “The beginning of an Era. The End of the Era,” and how it may concern your understanding of Ecclesiastes, “it ain’t over until the fat lady sings.
Perhaps this king Solomon Proverb might be applicable advice for your longing before your time is over which I hope is a long time off because I enjoy reading your posts, and comments, sometimes. even though I believe your blog title would be better if you search for “Wisdom” instead of “Sanity.”
