In my opinion, this writer gives a common-sense opinion about drug legalization of opioids.
We read in the news about the pros and cons of drug legalization will add tax revenues, reduce crime, by legalizing drugs. Marijuana proponents claim it is harmless and not a bridge to drug addiction.
There are no medical experts who will deny opioids are non-addictive and/or a possible bridge to heroin addiction that I ever read or heard.. Yet there are proponents that legalizing drugs is a matter of personal choice and rights of individuals.
If Interested
Read this Chicago Tribune article titled, Legalization isn’t a solution to the opioid crisis, HERE.
Then compare his opinion to a previous post titled, King Solomon, Opiates Crisis, HERE
King Solomon
Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. (Ecclesiastes 1:17)
In My Opinion
Anyone who studied Marketing will come to the realization that the USA probably has the most talented advertising and marketing agents in the world. If they are hired to promote legalization of drugs, same as they did in the past with cigarettes, legalizing drugs will epitomize King Solomon’s Ecclesiastes two words, Madness and Folly.
One ploy of skilled marketing people is to use word association methods. Perhaps the next time you read or hear a proponent of legalizing heroin or any drugs, think MADNESS and FOLLY.
You Decide
Will Legislators you vote for make wise, common sense decisions on legalization of drugs, or go for the immediate added tax revenues regardless of the future medical, welfare, and misery costs that will surely result in time with an increase of drug addiction in the USA?
Madness and Folly or Common Sense Wisdom?
