King Solomon on a Mother’s Day Choice (u/d)

This Mothers Day, perhaps you mothers may want to also add this reason to your list of things to thank your mother about.  Just imagine when you were a new born baby girl being laid for the first time in her arms and she had to make a choice.
She must choose a religion for her child for someday she will grow up, perhaps marry, and because she is a woman, will share a religious relationship with a husband. Her choice would be based on one religious belief she chooses.  If she refuses to choose, King Solomon will order the baby to be cut in half and one half given to each religion. Which of the two religions below should she choose for her daughter?

Religion One Belief
Opinions and teachings vary among three principal groups—one group that believes in a full and co-equal partnership of the husband and wife, and two others which advocate a male-dominant hierarchical structure in marriage:
  • Christian egalitarianism proposes a completely equal partnership between men and women in both the family and in the church. Its proponents teach “the fundamental biblical principle of the equality of all human beings before God”.[Gal. 3:28]According to this principle, there can be no moral or theological justification for permanently granting or denying status, privilege, or prerogative solely on the basis of a person’s race, class, or gender.[7]
  • Complementarianism prescribes a husband-headship male-dominant hierarchy. This view’s core beliefs call for a “husband’s loving, humble headship” and “the wife’s intelligent, willing submission” to his headship. Without necessarily using the term “obey”, they believe women have “different but complementary roles and responsibilities in marriage…”[8]
  • Biblical patriarchy prescribes a strict male-dominant hierarchy. Their organization’s first tenet is that “God reveals Himself as masculine, not feminine. God is the eternal Father and the eternal Son, the Holy Spirit is also addressed as ‘He,’ and Jesus Christ is a male.” They consider the husband-father to be “sovereign” over “his” household—the family leader, provider, and protector. They call for a wife to be obedient to her “head” (husband).[9]
Some Christian authorities used to permit polygamy (specifically polygyny) in the past, but this practice, besides being illegal in Western cultures, is now considered to be out of the Christian mainstream and continues to be practiced only by fringe fundamentalist sects.

Religion Two
Men are in charge of women, according to the words of Muhammad and the Qur’an.
The Qur’an:
Qur’an (4:34) – “Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them.”
Qur’an (2:228) – “and the men are a degree above them”
Qur’an (33:59) – “Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them…” Men determine how women dress.
Qur’an (33:33) – “And abide quietly in your homes…” Women are confined to their homes except when they have permission to go out.
Qur’an (2:223) – “Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will.” Wives are to be sexually available to their husbands in all ways at all times. They serve their husbands at his command. This verse is believed to refer to anal sex (see Bukhari 60:51), and was “revealed” when women complained to Muhammad about the practice. The phrase “when and how you will” means that they lost their case.
Qur’an (66:5) – “Maybe, his Lord, if he divorce you, will give him in your place wives better than you, submissive, faithful, obedient, penitent, adorers, fasters, widows and virgins” A disobedient wife can be replaced.
From the Hadith:
Bukhari (88:219) – “Never will succeed such a nation as makes a woman their ruler.”
Bukhari (2:28) – Ingratitude toward her husband (ie. disobedience) can land a woman in Hell. Muhammad explains why women comprise the bulk of Hell’s occupants.
Bukhari (72:715) – A charming little tale in which a woman seeks Muhammad’s help in leaving an abusive marriage, but is ordered by the prophet to return to her husband and submit to his commands.
Bukhari (4:149) – Muhammad’s wives are even trained to defecate on his command.
Bukhari (48:826) – Women have a deficiency of intelligence, meaning that their decisions will not be comparable to a man’s.
Bukhari (58:125) – Women are tradable commodities. A Muslim with two wives offers a fellow Muslim his pick between the two. Muhammad then arranges a wedding banquet.
Bukhari (62:81) – According to Muhammad, the most important part of a marriage contract is the unrestricted access that a man has to his wife’s vagina.
To this day, it is absolutely forbidden for a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim man, even though men are not under the same restriction as to their choice of marriage partners. This is is a consequence of the low status of a wife against that of her husband. A Muslim is not allowed to be subordinate to a non-Muslim, and a wife must be subordinate to her husband.
In her lifetime, a Muslim woman is never to be without the guardianship of a man, from her father to her husband to the male members of her family (in the event that she is widowed or divorced).

Purpose of the Post
I have been reading a number of posts lately to question a true religion. There are four major religions in the world today. The reality of choice of religion  is that and a newborn baby will most likely be taught the religious beliefs of the parents based on what country or part of the world they are born in.
I read in a biography of that Mahatma Gandhi, after studying the Bible about the Sermon on the Mount, was seriously thinking of converting to become a Christian. However, knowing that if he did, he would lose community support of the Hindus in India, and therefore decided not to convert. In my opinion, this reason is probably the major reason why most people never change religions in my opinion.
So, which religion would you choose for your daughter? Silly question? However, for women, depending on where you are born and marry, living a life with a religious control freak husband can be a hell on earth, in my opinion.
King Solomon at least gave a mother a choice. Too bad some mothers today, 3000 years later after King Solomon, will never get a chance or opportunity to make a choice for their daughter.
There is also another choice that seems to be rising in the world today. That is Atheism. Atheists only need to choose what morals they want to live by. However, there are still a lot of laws based on religious morals they must abide by or be penalized by society. There is also a long listing of mistaken laws and morals recorded in history though in the past 3000 years made by various leaders and societies.
Thanks Mom, I think I will just stick by the choice you made for me to be a true religion, even though I turned out to be male. However, I have to admit, I have never figured out how to control my wife. Never had too, perhaps because of this King Solomon proverb.
A godly wife is a gift from the Lord, and a token of His special favor. (Prov. 18:22.)
