How did coronavirus re-prioritize abortion?
The Texas Tribune Article titled: No abortions in Texas unless the mother’s life is in danger, Texas attorney general says as coronavirus spreads.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to discern the significance of two Ecclesiastes verses in relation to the decision made to stop abortions in Texas because of Coronavirus Pandemic.
King Solomon
For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. (Ecclesiastes 7:1)
“to all the living there is hope”; of their being better; and, as Jarchi observes, there is hope, while alive, even though he is a wicked man joined to the wicked; yea, there is hope of the wicked, that he may be good before he dies;
A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth (Ecclesiastes 9:4)
“the day in which a man dies and departs to the house of the grave, with a good name and with righteousness, is better than the day in which a wicked man is born into the world.”
So, the Midrash interprets it of one that goes out of the world with a good name, considering this clause in connection with the preceding, as many do.
What’s My Point?
Sadly, the coronavirus pandemic is bringing into focus the needs to prioritize choices that pertain to hope, life, or death.
Frankly, many of King Solomon’s wisdom verses about life give advice on priorities in life based on his observations of various wise, foolish, or meaningless choices we all will or may experience in our live.
For example, choosing to pursue pleasures and treasures are meaningless without life.
In My Opinion,
The news headline sadly should make us all aware of priorities in life. Without life there is absolutely no hope of ever experiencing at least one good day in life before death.
Those who choose faith in God prioritize their lives to acquire a good name life have hope that when their life ends, they will acquire an eternal life.
Any aborted child is in effect been prioritizes as lesser that a dog which in ancient Israel was consider the lowest most reviled animal.

If the reason to end abortion as a priority to provide hope to save a life of a person afflicted with coronavirus, could it be the same reason a priority to save a life of an unborn child with a beating heart in a mother’s womb?
Is now the right time, after 60 million abortions in the USA, for the issue of abortion to be revisited in the Supreme Court?
When we die, should we hope there will, or will not be, similar priorities for availability of beds in eternity based on the good or meaningful choices we made in life?
