King Solomon Blog: Kudos Mayor Lightfoot for…

…at least making an effort to warn pot heads about the health hazards of use of recreational marijuana.

I was surprised and pleased to see on MayorLightfoot twitter a warning and an information links which include information about non – moderate use of a proven chemical substance capable of screwing up her constituent’s minds.
A warning that there is a 1 in 6 risk factors for adolescents, and a 1 in 10 risk factors of a user turning into a hard-core drug addict as proven by medical evidence of the CDC, Center for Disease Control of the USA.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to both give kudos to Mayor Lightfoot and to convey proven medical facts that although her warning is well and wise intentioned.

King Solomon
She (Wisdom ) speaks her words:
22 “How long, you [j]simple ones, will you love [k]simplicity?
For scorners delight in their scorning,
And fools hate knowledge.(Proverbs 1:21, 22)
What’s My Point?
I applaud Mayor Lightfoot for warning potential new users of recreational marijuana because it is now legal of the potential detrimental health effect.
However, as her warning states, certain people will not be moderate in their use recreational marijuana. The result will be that their brains will no longer be capable of comprehending moderation to inject or ingest a harmful poison into their bodies because their brains will no longer be capable to discern the effects according to her warnings.
For example, ask any drug addict or nicotine addict or anyone with mental problems to just stop unhealthy habits or behaviors after they have become addicted or experience pleasurable effects or temporary relief from whatever ails them either mentally or physically. In other words, try taking away candy from a baby’s mouth?
The best solution is either to not make a known poisonous substance readily available to make it harder for potential addicts to become addicted.
How many people will need advice really read public service messages from politician’s twitter sites?
Or to make it so expensive they cannot afford the poison.
Or to advertise, educate, and require all news media that require FCC license approve to broadcast donate minimal time to broadcast daily public service messages about health or social warnings to wise them up.
Or even better, broadcast wise sayings and idioms along with discernable interpretations to wise up our populace to the fact that nothing is new under the sun. Each new generation will repeat the same follies of previous generations as King Solomon observed 3000 years ago along with other wisemen and sayings from all cultures.
In other words, squeaky wheels get the most grease and as every school teacher and parent r knows, repetition helps promote understanding and knowledge that leads to wisdom.

You Decide
Wise or foolish to practice and teach with repetition the wisdom to understand this following idiom?
“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again and again and again.”
Or as King Solomon wrote 3000 years ago in Ecclesiastes:
Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.(Ecclesiastes 11:6 NIV)
