Will your experience the same phenomenon the next time you hear or read another news report about this issue?
The Chicago Tribune article titled, Barr hearing was much ado about nothing, related a Shakespeare idiom to Attorney General William Barr appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the Mueller Report.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate two more idioms that will result in my mind from now every time I hear another news report on this issue.
Definitions
An idiom is a phrase or expression whose meaning can’t be understood from the ordinary meanings of the words in it. For example, “Get off my back!” is an idiom meaning “Stop bothering me!” The idiom “You hit the nail on the head” means “You’re exactly right.” (Google)
The Baader–Meinhof phenomenon, otherwise known as frequency illusion or recency illusion. This phenomenon occurs when the thing you’ve just noticed, experienced or been told about suddenly crops up constantly.

What’s My Point?
After reading the Chicago Tribune article, I believe I will exhibit the same psychological effects as the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon and associate the following three idiom idioms to this issue.
- “Much Ado about Nothing” by Shakespeare.
- “Flogging it to death” from the Nero era.
- “Madness and Folly” by King Solomon
In My Opinion
So will millions of others who are fed up with hearing more news reports on this issue.
