Which Umpire or Empire threw Him out?
The Chicago Tribune has two articles about the: Moral clarity? Kate Smith’s ‘God Bless America’ vs. Woody Guthries’s ‘This Land is Your Land’ about why the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Flyers would stop using Kate Smith’s singing of ‘God Bless America’ during games.
The Purpose of This Post
Is to question if it was really for the reasons explained or something else like another repeat episode of foolishness of mortal man?
King Solomon
“At the beginning of his reign, Solomon loved the God of Israel and covenanted with God that he would walk in obedience throughout his administration as king of Israel. Solomon was promised wisdom, riches, honor, and long life if he would continue in righteousness before the Lord. The promise was fulfilled.”
What’s My Point?
The Bible story of King Solomon began his reign with his request to God.
“but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. 8 And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. 9 Therefore give to Your servant an [b]understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
“As Solomon got older, some of his wives led him to worship their gods.”
My point is to wonder if the song “This Land is My Land” is symbolic of the same choice made by King Solomon to believe he no longer needed to obey his God because he believed he was as wise as Him?
In My Opinion
King Solomon wrote a verse that has accurately described the failings of every generation and Nation that would follow after him.
What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)

In other words, when a Nation divorces themselves from God’s wisdom and morals, will God divorce himself from that Nation?
