Is the present media General Mattis vs. President Trump disagreement a repeat of President Truman vs. General MacArthur historical parting? Does the number 666 have any significance in this happening?
The Chicago Tribune article titled, on last day, Mattis’ implores the Pentagon to keep the faith, reports General Mattis last day parting words.
“the President has the right to have a Secretary of Defense whose views are better aligned with him.”
The Purpose of This Post
Is to relate this article to a similar incident in the history of differences between Generals and Presidents. Also, to relate to news pundits located 6695 miles from Syria, what a news columnist reported about General MacArthur may also pertain to them.

What’s My Point?
Both Generals Mattis and General MacArthur are without a doubt, patriots and skilled on how to win wars. However, Presidents have been given in the Constitution, the supreme power to be their Commander in Chiefs and overrule them.
Generals are skilled how to win wars. The problem is the USA Congress has never declared war in 78 years, only police actions. President Trump campaigned he does not believe the USA should be the policeman for the world and promised to return our troops home.
The death described in the above Proverb was intended to imply Spiritual Death of living mortals. I am using it to remind pundits that war also leads to human deaths.
While everyone is entitled to their personal political opinions, and whether or not we love or hate President Trump, he was elected President. Every soldier and legislator take an oath to uphold the Constitution of the USA,

Wrote the following critical article about General MacArthur decision in the Korean War that lead to the deaths of 700 USA troops
“To Joseph Alsop, a nominally sympathetic columnist, the manner of MacArthur’s staff in the Tokyo years seemed like nothing so much as what Alsop had read of the court of Louis XIV. The Dai Ich Building, which housed it, he wrote, “was proof of the basic rule of armies at war: the farther one gets from the front, the more laggards, toadies and fools one encounters.” No one had more toadies and sycophants than MacArthur, and their tone with him “was almost wholly simpering and reverential, and I have always held the view that this sycophancy was what tripped him up in the end.”
In My Opinion
I agree with President Trump about the USA being the policeman of the world needs to be reduced and shared with other nations.
The history of the Middle East records innumerous wars dating back 5000 years. In our contemporary time, the beliefs of Islam of which the majority of present Middle East Countries follow, contains Koran verses to state that if a believer kill an infidel (non-believer) to defend the belief that “Allah is great,” he or she will receive a heavenly reward.
This differs from Judeo Christian beliefs “thou shalt not kill.”
Until both religions concur in the belief that if you kill and innocent, you will not be rewarded in heaven, nothing in the Middle East will every change same as King Solomon observed in this verse.

“Under the sun” location is the area and happenings below the heavens where humans exist.
In other words, wars, deaths of innocents, included will never change, unless we humans” wise up” to the futility of wars “under the sun.”
