King Solomon, Genghis Khan, Border Walls, Computer Walls?

What common links are there for all of the above?

In a previous post titled, King Solomon, Wall Wisdom, I commented that a border wall makes it easier for border guards to control the border. Nothing is 100 percent. However, there is another issue that needs to be considered on this issue. In business, it is identified as a cost justification.
Cost Justification Definition
“Cost justification is a substantiation of the need for an item of expenditure, with documentary or any other evidence. Business owners or managers may require the person incurring the cost to explain the reasons for doing so, and expect proof that expected returns would exceed the cost.” (Source Google)
The Purpose to this Post
Is to link the common reasons that prevent both border security and computer security from being 100 percent effective.
King Solomon
The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty. (Proverb 22:3)
Genghis Khan and Computers
The Great Wall of China extends 13,171 miles long was built to control their borders from the Mongols.
Computer programmers have designed numerous computer walls to prevent hacking intrusions in computers.
Great Wall of China
During a six-decade campaign to invade China, the Mongols penetrated the Great Wall and besieged the capital of Yanjing (now Beijing) in 1215. Mongols were able to regularly find ways of going around sections or through the walls—often by bribing officials and guards.
Genghis Khan was alleged to have said,
‘The strength of a wall depends on the courage of those who defend it.”
Computer Walls
So, if Genghis Khan is correct, we need to bolster the courage (and wisdom) of those who defend it.  Human weaknesses are the biggest threat whether greed, vengeance, or a simple lack of common sense.  Some people actually click on those strange links from foreign princes or from theme park offering free tickets.  How do you defend against this?  What can be done?  First, you need to educate your users to be able to identify potential scams or phishing.  This is usually done by setting the policies for Internet and email use, and putting proper penalties in place for misuse.  So, what about those who are willfully doing harm to you?
What’s My Point?
The present Trump/Pelosi stalemate to build a wall between Mexico and the USA will never be 100 percent perfect same as it was not effective to stop the Mongols from invading China in 1215.
However, the wall was effective to help border guards to defend the borders until the border guards were bribed which prompted the Genghis Khan saying about courage. The problem with computer walls defense relates to education and common sense.
In My Opinion
The same three factors, bribery, education, and common sense are obvious the same reason why the US Congress has allowed 25 million illegal residents, tons of drugs, along with a portion of criminals for the last 33 years into the USA.
In the next three weeks, thanks to President Trump, a conversation along with awareness and education is taking place in Congress about solving these problems.
As for cost justification, keep in mind one of the reasons President Trump won the election is because voters chose to elect someone with a business background instead of a lifetime career as a politician.
Politico has fact-checked and stated that illegal immigrants cost USA taxpayers 135 billion dollars a year. The costs to police, prosecute, and jail drug offenders in another 100 billion a year. The cost to treat drug addiction and the 700,000 overdose victims who died since 1990 is incalculable because of the recidivism rate for drug addicts and criminals.
Perhaps in the next three weeks, Congress may realize that funding the 5.7 Billion President Trump wants, and the 5.7 billion the Democrats recommend in addition to a wall can easily be justified in comparison to continuing to ignore this problem for another 33 years.

You Decide
Cost justification for this issue, to decide if there needs to be a Great Wall on the USA, wise or foolish?
Congressional and Voter courage to address this issue to control and defend our Nation, wise or foolish?
Would King Solomon, according to his above proverb, judge the policies of Congress on this issue for the past 33 years to be prudent or simple?
Regards and good will blogging.
