King Solomon, Robbie Analogy in Life

Will you be a winner or loser in this analogy?

I went to a Chicago Bears vs. 49ers football game Sunday. The Bears scored two seven point touchdowns. After each touchdown, there was great fanfare of singing, flag waving and fireworks. However, they lost they lost the game by one point, 15 -14.

The game  hero  was Robbie Gould, the former Bears kicker who was dropped by the Chicago Bears but won the game for the 49ers by kicking five three point field goals. The Chicago Tribune article today read, Bears aren’t responding to adversity, they’re creating more of it.

When I read the headline words, I could not help relate the headline as an analogy of the real winners and losers in life.

King Solomon Wisdom in Life

I have seen something else under the sun:

The race is not to the swift
or the battle to the strong,
nor does food come to the wise
or wealth to the brilliant
or favor to the learned;
but time and chance happen to them all.  (Eccc;esiastes 9:11)

I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.” (Ecclesiastes 3:17)

What’s My Point

Watching two losing season teams play still made for an entertaining time in spite of the futility of the Bears losing the lead in the last minutes. The article lists 10 reasons why the Bears lost. In my opinion, they lost because the Bears defensive players were worn out in the last minutes of the game.

My analogy is that since our Creator created us, He knew there would be futile times and winners and losing players in life. Based on that, I assume that God also still finds enjoyment in watching all the players he created in His game of life.

In the reality of life, faith believers know the only game in life that will really matter in the end is how they will be judged for righteousness when they confront, or play against, the  wicked adversaries in life..

My point being that It makes no difference if your human counterparts consider you to be a winner or loser in life. The only important numbers in life for you to win will be scored for your righteousness.

In My Opinion

If interested, read the article and think of Robie who won the game for the 49ers with five field goals, as being a symbol for righteousness…

If you allow righteousness to be kicked out of your life, the same result may occur. You may have obtained all kinds of fanfare from the touchdowns you won in life, riches, glory, power, fanfare.

However,  when He comes back to judge you, you may not win the game in your final score.

You Decide

Are you being worn out every day trying to defend yourself against wicked adversaries.

Are you responding with righteousness, or is your problem “you are creating more adversity because your offense in horrendous?”

Would a Robbie kick in your behind help your offense get over the goalposts in life?
