What did ancient rulers believe about requiring poor to pay interest on loans?
Should an interest payment holiday be enacted for anyone who lost their employment because of the coronavirus pandemic?
The Purpose of This Post
Is to convey the question of morality of lenders to continue to charge or accrue interest obligations on anyone who cannot afford to pay rent or mortgage payments because of loss of employment because of the pandemic.
King Solomon
Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor. (Proverb 28:8)
Excerpt
The meaning is, that things should be so overruled by the providence of God, that what such an avaricious man gets in his dishonest way should not be enjoyed by him or his; but should be taken out of his hands, and put into the hands of another, that will do good with it, by showing mercy to the poor; see Job 27:16.
What’s My Point?
The coronavirus has been legally described by public officials as “an act of God.”
In ancient times, interest payments laid on the poor was considered a sinful abomination to their God.
In other words, President Trump has included laws to prevent eviction or means for mortgage payment s to be extended for those who became unemployed. However, interest payments can accrue and place an even greater burden by increasing the payments in the future.
In My Opinion
We need an interest payment holiday be extended to anyone who lost their employment because of the coronavirus pandemic.
This same holiday on interest to apply to owners of rental properties if the renter has lost employment.

You Decide
Where ancient laws on interest and usury be more favorable in the eyes of the Creator as this following 3000-year-old proverb:
The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.to the poor, (Proverb 22:2)
If a politician uses the term “Act of God,” to justify to legally obtain urgent needs, should the same logic be applied to interest payments?
Same logic to perhaps it should be legal to teach children in schools, both public and private about other “acts of god” that need to be observed in life?
