Finally, their season….
…after 108 years of ‘chasing the wind’ to win the Pennant and World Series.
King Solomon on Seasons in Life
Ecclesiastes 3King James Version (KJV)
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
 King Solomon on Work and Enjoyment in Life
  “However many years a man may live, let him enjoy them all…. Be happy, young man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth” (11:9).
This is not hedonism—eat, drink, and be merry, because you will soon die. This is realism—to work and to eat are gifts from God for those who please Him (2:26).
Solomon reminds us that despite all of life’s enigmas and inequities, we should enjoy what God has given us. To be happy in one’s work is a gift of God (5:19).
Perhaps?
Did God decide to finally listen to Cub fans prayers and sent in the rain to give the Cubs a rain timeout to calm the Cubs spirits, rest up, and comeback to win the final game?  A miracle perhaps? You decide.
In My Opinion
After reading and hearing the news lately about the history of our world for the last 108 years, we all need to pray for God to send us a rainstorm timeout to wise up and stop chasing the wind.
